台灣中小規模的傳產製造、機械設備業，早在2010年開始，陸續推行製造服務化、工業4.0、數位轉型等，已習慣蒐集累積製程中/後段鑑別監控，乃至於售後維運服務的巨量數據資料，形成生產履歷；未來應逐步建構數位分身，預先於實地量產前模擬加工，藉以提升良率，並減少因廢品而增加排碳。
根據麥肯錫最新調查報告，未來幾乎所有產業都需要導入生成式AI輔助才有競爭力，包括：編程（Coding）、行銷（Marketing）和客服（Customer service），以及製造業的產品設計等應用，將會產生對話式商務模式、自動生成行銷內容等，都可投入數位轉型的下一步。並將之概分為4大面向：產品轉換、優化營運、強化行銷、賦能員工，尤其是最後強調能藉此克服現今老齡少子化社會的缺工現狀，而非取代人力。
估計目前全球生成式AI創造的經濟價值，若以新增營收3,000億美元為界，產業應用前5名依序為：高科技、零售、銀行、旅行運輸運籌、先進製造；企業功能前5名依序為：行銷銷售、軟體工程、供應鏈、客戶管理、產品研發。
許多企業也因此，開始積極將具有創作特性的生成式AI導入內部工作，成為研發與製造工作的要角，或是擴展至整個供應鏈的運作，進而生成各式專業文件內容，或是再進階的產業應用，提高生產效能。

就連輝達（NVIDIA）執行長黃仁勳2023年現身鴻海科技日活動，也特別以手繪方式，一邊描述具有AI大腦的電動車，能夠自動駕駛、與人互動；另一頭，則是一座AI工廠，從電動車端不斷獲得資料，並產出更新、更適合電動車的各式軟體。
宣布將與鴻海合作打造基於輝達加速運算平台的AI工廠，強調並非利用AI來製造產品，而是製造出AI解決方案、生產「智慧」的工廠。將搭載最新的GPU超級晶片和AI Enterprise軟體，專門用於處理、精煉、將大量資料轉化為有價值的AI模型；鴻海也將在智慧/自駕電動車、智慧製造機器人系統和智慧城市等領域，開發基於NVIDIA技術的智慧解決方案平台，資料再回傳到AI工廠，成為不斷優化的循環，加速全球產業的數位化革命。

善用客製化小語言模型 導入Edge AI應用
另依工研院產科國際所產業分析師熊治民分析，如今無論是生成式（Generative AI）與鑑別式人工智慧（Discriminative AI），都是基於機器學習（Machine Learning）而來，兩者的應用效益都包含自動化、高速化與準確性。
只是其中鑑別式AI的輸入資料，須先經過標記後，再進行學習訓練辨識與分類，目前更已結合自動光學檢測（AOI）、機器視覺等應用，被大量導入諸多場域，包括讓製造業者用來提高加工零組件與產品的自動化檢測速度與準確性，進而降低人力需求與誤判率，提升人員安全與作業效能。
生成式AI則可透過輸入大量的非標註、非結構化資料，提供大語言模型GPT（Generative Pre-trained Transformer）與自監督式學習（Self-Supervised Learning）的過程訓練，再建構出基礎模型（Foundation model），自主生成創新的資料內容，包括立即式問答與自動回應文字、語音、圖像、影像、程式碼、3D模型數據等相關資料內容，正持續探索與驗證在製造領域的應用模式與價值。
一旦面對較專業的問題，無法提出令人滿意的答案，即可再透過少量人工標記資料，針對通才性的生成式AI基礎模型進行更專門的學習訓練，並調適（Finetune）建構成符合製造業應用需求的客製化模型。
工業物聯網大廠研華公司資深經理郭柏村便表示，自從生成式AI在2022年Q4蔚為風潮，也開始出現邊緣AI導入客製化LLM加速落地發展，開發視覺AI演算法；各家大廠陸續投入AI軍備競賽，包括GPU、記憶體等硬體約2年成長2倍、語言模型（Parameter）大小甚至因此擴增千倍！主因在於LLM「頓悟點」（Emergent point），大致維持在10B左右的資料規模，才會大幅提升其創意智慧。
進而造就2013~2023年間「AI 1.0階段」，以鑑別式AI模型為主，透過越多越好的標記資料供深度學習或監督；以及AI 2.0階段的生成式AI通才模型，則強調可觸類旁通，只需少量資料就能快速瞭解與應用，不必大量標記資料訓練將更有效率，並將之導入邊緣（Edge AI）應用。
郭柏村進一步指出，過去AI 1.0的表現上雖然在特殊專才領域為強項，如Alphago，卻無法被複製到跨領域應用（遷移學習），例如將醫療CT辨識病灶模型轉移至AOI辨識產品瑕疵，且耗費算力資源較少。面臨問題還是需要從頭蒐集、標註大量參數資料，訓練監督式模型迭代進化，耗費大量時間與成本；待使用超過一段時間還要重新訓練，以免準確度衰退。
AI 2.0結構則相對簡單，經過不斷擴大語言模型和參數訓練，先經過遷移學習轉化而跨足各式各樣領域。但缺點是因此越長越大的建模、訓練成本，非台灣中小企業能承擔。研華也為此推出Instant AI功能，模型架構單一，可減少使用資料量與時間，容易再訓練，更快導入Edge AI應用。
並快速建立以Foundation Model的LLM通才能力為基礎，用來解決傳統AOI瑕疵檢測常見異常檢測、物件計數等高度通用性場域，僅須該模型的前中段產生的瑕疵特徵，經壓縮至10~20%參數量的樣本數少，約耗用1/10資源。因此部署容易，適合多樣跨領域產業，而不必重頭再訓練，即可搭配適合的硬軟體在Edge裝置運行，分別找出OK/NG件，準確度已不輸人眼，還可以7天24hr全年無休。

結合雲端服務商LLM 提高生成式AI平民化價值
目前生成式AI模型層訓練專才小語言模型情境共概分為3類：端對端應用，使用自有模型開發一般應用；或與夥伴（開發商）合作，透過API自動接取閉/開源通用型大語言模型；再加入企業垂直領域應用，再以微調模型，真正達到AI平民化。
倘若企業內部沒有合格的IT人員時，便能請求外援；或是將應用層直接建立在企業私有雲上，決定採取開源或閉源；同時建立使用規範，在生成後即時反饋，以防止機密數據外洩風險，還能保持商業化的競爭力。
如依Amazon亞馬遜技術長Werner Vogels預測2024年未來技術趨勢，LLM模型將開始形成更廣泛的全球化視角，拓展視野並理解文化。其中有兩個研究領域將發揮關鍵作用：
一、基於AI回饋的強化學習（reinforcement learning from AI feedback，RLAIF），即一個模型可以吸收另一個模型的回饋，不同的模型之間能相互影響，藉此更新對不同文化概念的理解；
二、透過自我辯論，即一個模型的多個執行個體生成回應之後，再針對每個回應的有效性及背後的推論展開辯論，得到一致的回應。
這兩個研究領域都能降低訓練和微調模型所需的人力成本，LLM模型還能在相互學習的過程中，從不同文化的視角獲得對複雜社會的理解，確保模型提供更具韌性和準確性的回應。
選擇智慧製造領域
進而導入製造場域的潛在應用，包括：協助挖掘新市場機會與產品需求；加速創新產品設計及獲得優化；自動生成軟體系統、工具機、自動化裝置、機器人所需控制程式；增加企業建構知識管理系統能力與降低成本，並透過資料快速擷取、彙整，提供作業人員即時輔助；透過智慧化人機介面，強化機器人、設備控制與人機協作能力。

尤其是在「控制程式自動生成」，因為在製造領域有許多工作，都會涉及到軟體開發與程式撰寫。包括各類製造與生產管理資訊系統、數位控制（CNC）工具機和加工程式（NC code）、各類應用於自動化裝置及工業機器人的可程式控制器（PLC）程式等，可讓研發、製造領域的工程師，透過生成式AI自動產生程式碼、進行差補與除錯，加速軟體與控制系統開發更新。
Siemens公司也在2023年德國漢諾威工業展中，展示旗下工程團隊如何透過自然語言輸入，由生成式AI自動產生PLC程式碼，來協助軟體開發人員和自動化工程師，減少軟體開發時間和人為編寫程式錯誤的機會。
於「智慧化人機介面」，則可以結合語音辨識技術，建構出能理解人類自然語言，並進行有意義對話的智慧化人機介面。經過流暢文字與使用者對話，應用在各種製造場域的機台與設備操作、維護，實現人機協作並提供更快速的客戶服務。
如今包括Google及Microsoft公司，都在嘗試發展以生成式AI利用自然語言或感測影像資料，來實現更簡便的指揮機器人完成指定工作的控制方案；未來也可能出現可與操作人員對話的加工機械設備，能依據自然語言快速設定工作程序，或提出異常警示、建議故障排除方案。依Google研究顯示，因此將大幅降低機器人導入門檻，減少專業人員教導或編程需求，增加使用彈性與便利性。
利用AI平民商業化 實現製造業轉型有感升級
值得一提的是，由於製造業導入AI轉型還須留意3大重點：首先是完成能夠實踐數位分身的資料數位化，讓研發、管理到製造流程同步並進，加速產品上市；其次是善用雲端平台，降低對於AI高速算力和儲存空間等硬體建構的昂貴成本，打造團隊協作基地。
最後是挑選具備AI和機械學習的訓練工具和模型，透過軟體自主學習使用者的設計習慣和喜好不斷進化，進而具備自動設計的效能，把產品生命週期的的時間留給前期創新，也有助於製造業吸引、培訓留才。

包括可先利用「流程自動化機器人」（RPA）軟體+AI，布建工業用異質網路，蒐集所有現場資訊後集中於雲平台，讓占據機器生命週期（Lifecycle）最長的設備運作狀態聯網可視化，加以監控、診斷。
進而將感測數據化繁為簡，輔助自我診斷與現場決策數位化，預先得知機器設備異常或健康狀態。到了維修階段，即可串聯設備維護手冊與維修記錄，由生成式AI產生有用資訊，協助現場人員快速完成維修保養、調整參數；或是透過動態學習專家感官經驗，達成智能調光的角度、強度、色域等參數最佳化。
工研院近幾年來也透過智慧機械雲平台，積極與其他法人單位合作，開發多樣App應用軟體，清查設備各參數的加工能力和影響，快速調整設定值與實際值的誤差；實現設備作業認知流程自動化，由RPA提升設備效率與實現永續維運
江宜霖強調工研院目前無意自行發展LLM，而是站在巨人的肩膀上發展應用，由專家抓方向與原理，選擇雲端開源或閉源方式，再透過AI探索數據關聯，並取得正確資料優化參數、加快調機試驗的學習訓練時間，加速，使得設備運作最佳化。

此外，由於面對製程大量設備，每台機器需要建立一個模型，導致AI模型適當調校成為一大問題。所以工研院也透過結合AI建模與管理平台，降低AI模型建置門檻，大幅縮短開發時間，可讓各領域專家自行建置、調校與持續管理AI模型，估計3個月內可建置並上線400多個模型。
接著利用智慧機械雲推出次世代智慧平台，將導入數位分身和生成式AI，並整合國際元宇宙及專業模擬軟體，開發多樣化模擬工具，優化設計與製程；串聯地端微服務及決策，發展虛實整合智慧工廠。
未來透過佈署設備永續維運智慧化系統，可在電子半導體、紡織、金屬加工等產業，應用於舊機操作功能升級，滿足既有產線檢測自動化的多樣性需求；透過AI+RPA與腳本化機制，讓專家依經驗自行調整維運流程，可因應少量、多樣化生產需求，自動且快速排除異常作業，減輕人員操作負擔，增加作業產能和減碳，創造未來具自我生產特色的智慧維運工廠。
